The purpose of this research is to analyze pitching motions of pro players and college amateur players kinetically and to investigate the differences through the scientific method for the performance of the pitching motion, so that it can suggest the quantifiable and right pitching motions and provide the effective pitching motions to improve athletic performance and to prevent injury. The following are the results of analyzing by each section and event through the kinetic analysis using the kinematic analysis and EMG with the 3-dimensional image analysis of the 2 current pro players and 2 college amateur players for these purposes. 1. It was found that the time required for the baseball pitching motion is the section to secure stability and each quantity of motion before the players pitch a ball in P1, so short time is desirable to minimize unnecessary physical movements to effectively perform the balance in center of gravity. It was also found that securing stability after feet that rapidly moved and pushed ahead in P2 touch the ground and pitching a ball by spinning the upper body that obtained momentum forward in P3 are desirable. 2. It was found that as for the position change in center of gravity, it is desirable to perform securing basement effectively, to fulfill the stable pitching motion, and to use the quantity of motion secured in each joint strongly forward at the same time by taking the leg to push ahead toward direction of progress and using appropriate stride. 3. It was found that as for the speed change in center of gravity, it is important to select position to correctly pitch a fast ball and is desirable that three points among the center of a hind leg that supports the body, the other leg that pushes ahead, and a vertex of home plate are in line and that the players should move the center of gravity forward rapidly and minimize the motions of right and left. In addition, it was found that it is desirable to form vertical axis and to spin the upper body based on the stable center of gravity by controlling speed of stepping forward. 4. As for the angle change of the body segments, it was found that it is effective that extension of the knee joint obtains momentum strongly toward of progress and spins and that the players maximize the turning force of the upper body through flexure and extension of a hip joint. It was found that it is desirable that the players should bend the shoulder joint not used for pitching outward of the leg pushing ahead to maximize spin and to perform the strong spin force and it is effective to increase effectiveness by transferring the kinetic energy started from the proximal segment to the distal segment through flexure of the shoulder joint used for pitching. It was found that it is desirable to increase the kinetic energy through flexure and extension of an elbow joint in the process of transferring the kinetic energy from the proximal segment to the distal segment and that it is desirable to extend the carpal to effectively use the kinetic energy gained by the external rotation of the upper limbs to the hilt before pitching a ball. 5. As for the myokinesis of EMG, it was found that it is desirable to form a vertical axis of the moving body by bending the shoulder and ankle joints using the gastrocnemius in the supporting leg. It was found that it is effective that a leg pushing ahead should control the body rapidly moving to the direction of process in the lower limbs using the straight muscle of thigh and the anterior tibial muscle and should maintain the bent knee joint by biceps femoris to the hilt so as to maximize the rotation of the upper body. To compound these conclusions, it is considered to be effective that players should shorten the required time by minimizing their motions and securing the physical balance for fast and correct pitching. It is important to minimize the right and left motions when those are divided into a section of accumulating quantity of motion and a section of generating power to secure stable body effectively. It is thought that at the moment of pitching motion, the upper body can smoothly move when the supporting leg should bend the knee and ankle joints using the gastrocnemius and the leg pushing ahead should control the body rapidly moving to the direction of progress in the lower limbs using the straight muscle of thigh and the anterior tibial muscle and should maintain the bent knee joint by biceps femoris to the hilt. In addition, the most advisable pitching motion is judged to pitch a ball by maximizing the turning force gained from the proximal segment in the distal segment through flexure and extension of the shoulder, elbow and carpal joints to effectively use the strong turning force based on the stable center of gravity.
