This study aims to derive educational implications that can promote successful aging by considering the influence of positive psychological capital possessed by older adult learners on successful aging through social support and learning flow. The questionnaire survey was conducted for those aged 65 years or older who participated in lifelong education institutions through the method of convenience sampling and 289 copies were used for final analysis. The t-test and one-way ANOVA were used to test the difference between groups for each variable. In addition, we investigated the relationship between variables by using the structural equation model and examined the path coefficients and direct and indirect effects.
Results, First, positive psychological capital has a statistically significant effect on social support, learning flow, and successful aging. Second, social support has a statistically significant effect on learning flow, and the effect on successful aging is not statistically significant. Third, learning flow has a statistically significant effect on successful aging. Fourth, learning flow has played a mediating role in the effect of positive psychological capital on successful aging, and positive psychological capital has a positive effect on successful aging through social support and learning flow. As a proposal to promote successful aging, we have investigated the causal relationship between variables for older adult learners. It provides pedagogical implications for an action plan to enhance participation of older adult learners in learning in the age of lifelong learning, and to increase positive psychological capital, social support, and learning flow through lifelong learning.
