While “I”, the inquirer majoring in art therapy, had an interest about family art therapy, the purpose of this inquiry was to clarify how family members became healthy through family art therapy. In the art therapy for the family, the inquiry explained the process how to unveil experiences of the past, the present, and the future, the meaning of the process and the value of motherhood experienced in the therapy process, how they experienced their ontological signification of life, and the worth of this inquiry. The inquiry asked consecutive questions about what the inquirer tried to constantly find through encounters with other family members and used the ontological method to explain the ontological significance of the relationship with the world (other). A family with infant twins participated this art therapy desired healthier and happier lives. The therapy was performed from Jun 2015 to November 2018 and consisted of conversations, drawing art, and collecting artifacts from the whole family, parents, and wife. The inquirer concentrated on analyzing data collected from artworks created during the therapy. In the inquiry process, interviews were transcribed and observations were recorded on the inquiry notes. The verbatim of recorded contents was analyzed by the semi-structured method. The theme of experience revealed in the inquiry process was “the Man and wife are one in body and mind”, but the reality of their marriage was different. In the process, “the courage to accommodate the difference” was required and “art” encouraged participants. Then, the inquiry discovered the various egos of the husband, wife, and parents, and could “accept plural of me”. Although the participating family questioned, “Is there any effect of therapy?” when participants started the art therapy, the family learned more about each other in the therapy process. Also, the inquirer had an opportunity for self-reflection in the course of the family art therapy and deep understanding about what a mother’s love is. The therapy process provided additional experience that the power of wise motherhood brings energy and courage to family members for a vivid life. The inquirer realizes that the motherhood is always standing up and “patient to their children heartily”. In this inquiry, it is revealed that family works as a shelter for finding the signification of life and allows the mother to know how to live, rather than what to do. Finally, the inquiry concluded with the observation process of promoting the motherhood.
