양극 물질로는 Li(Ni0.5Co0.2Mn0.3)O2를 사용하였다.

In this paper, preparation and characterization of all solid state thin-film batteries deposited by DC/RF sputtering on a sapphire substrate are discussed. The Ti and Cu/Ti thin films for cathode and the anode current collector were deposited by a DC sputtering method, respectively. When the ratios of thickness of Cu to Cu/Ti was 1:1, the cracks on the surface significantly decreased. And the cathode electrode, the solid electrolyte, and the anode electrode were deposited by an RF sputtering. Li(Ni0.5Co0.2Mn0.3)O2 was used as a cathode material instead of LiCoO2 cathode which is conventional thin films. In order to prevent oxygen deficiency of the Li(Ni0.5Co0.2Mn0.3)O2 cathode material during sputtering, various oxygen flow added to Ar atmosphere. Lithium phosphorus oxynitride (LiPON) solid electrolyte was deposited with thick films with ~1.5um in order to prevent the possibility of short circuit between cathode and anode thin films. To measure ionic conductivity, Cu and LiPON thin films were deposited with overlap structure on sapphire substrate. The ionic conductivities were characterized by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy at room temperature. The obtained ion conductivity, 1.85 × 10-7 S/cm, was similar to literature values. TiO2 thin films were used as an anode electrode instead of Li metal which is conventional anode electrode Deposited cathode, electrolyte, and anode thin films showed amorphous even though the targets are crystalline. For the reason, when the target material attached on the substrate during RF sputtering, it might be rapid quenching. Silver paste was used to connect the electrodes and to package using an aluminum pouch.
