In this study, we investigated the expression of neurotransmitters in the hippocampus and cortex using LC-MS/MS and investigated the changes in behavioral responses. The levels of 5-HT, DA and EP in the hippocampus after restraint stress did not change compared with the normal group. However, the level of NE decreased significantly at 1 and 2 weeks after the impulse stress stimulus. GA showed a tendency to decrease but GABA showed a tendency to increase inversely. Generally, it is known that hippocampus in the limbic system is affected by stress. However, no significant change was observed except the significant reduction of NE by the 4 - week chronic custodial stress model. In the cerebral cortex, there was no change in the DA level after restraint stress stimulation, but the amount of 5-HT was significantly increased from 2 weeks to 4 weeks. EP and NE decreased significantly from 2 weeks to 4 weeks after stress. In addition, the amount of GA, an excitatory neurotransmitter, decreased from 1 week after stimulation to 4 weeks. GABA, the inhibitory amino acid, showed a tendency to decrease, though not significant. The number of rearing reactions was measured after 1 hour and 24 hours after the exposing stress exposure. The number of rearrangement reactions increased rapidly after 1 hour after the last detention, and after 24 hours, the number of rearrangement reactions decreased sharply compared to the normal group. From these results, the cognitive stress response is an appropriate model for the study of behavioral responses by stress, and the rapid decrease of NE level in the hippocampus of the brain and decrease of EP, NE and GA in cerebral cortex can be used as an important index of stress expression. In addition, behavioral responses may vary with changes in these neurotransmitters.
