This paper presents a peer to peer energy transaction platform base on the community considering the presence of consumers with green energy preferences, the desire of those who want to trade green energy among their neighbors, encourage P2P energy trading in terms of power system and securing a business model of the member(prosumer, consumer and platform operator) that should be considered when designing the P2P energy trading platform or model.
In the presented P2P transaction platform, the way of the trading structure is that members of the community bidding for energy trading and trading are done in a pool, rather than 1:1 trading based on contracts or consumer’s choice. The optimal energy trading price, the volume of the trading energy and charging/discharging schedule for the energy storage system is set by the purpose of the P2P energy trading platform.
The P2P energy trading platform which is proposed in this paper considers two objective functions. First is the minimization of energy purchase cost of community members from the external grid with energy storage depreciation cost. Second is the maximization of the social welfare of prosumer and consumer according to the green energy trade among the community members.
To solve the multi-objective decision-making problem, non-dominated set (Pareto optimal front) of solutions were derived using the Pareto optimal method, which takes into account the Pareto optimality. Then the best solution was derived using the Fuzzy satisfying method which gives the best solution to the decision maker with respect to a series of non-dominated solutions. Results such as energy transaction price, energy transaction capacity and energy storage system charging and discharge schedule were derived using the MATLAB's MILP (mixed integer linear programming) function.
The case study compares prosumer benefits and consumer energy purchase costs in four models, including the P2P energy trading platform presented in this paper. Case studies also compare results according to the changes in green energy preferences. consequentially, case studies have demonstrated that the P2P energy trading platform presents utility and business models to community members in accordance with energy transactions in community.
