In order to investigate the energy efficiency of the vibration frequency wave power generator, this study focused on the process of first converting the wave energy into the flow energy of the air. For this purpose, a floating wave power generator model was installed in a 2-dimensional wave tank, and the energy efficiency was calculated by measuring the displacement of the water surface in the cylinder. To obtain the wave information necessary to optimize the shape of the wave power generation system, the distribution function of the coastal wave period of the Korean peninsula was estimated using 59 coastal wave buoy data of Korea Meteorological Administration. The hydrodynamic behavior of the floating oscillating water column (OWC) wave generator was tested on a 1/10th scale model. The buoy behavior and free surface displacement were measured using a 100 fps digital camera, and the signal processing algorithm was used to automatically recognize the shape of the target from the observed video signal and convert it to the actual displacement. The vertical velocity () and the air volume flux (air volume flux, ) of the free surface were calculated by using the algorithm to identify and remove the anomalies from the collected surface displacement data. Finally, the time - averaged energy and efficiency were calculated. Experiments were carried out in consideration of various cylinders, length of skirts, and wave conditions in order to calculate the optimal shape parameters of the wave power generator. As a result of hydrodynamic analysis in the air chamber by the influence of the cylinder and skirt length of the wave generator, the first conversion efficiency of the floating OWC power generation system was measured from 29.26% to 75.33%.
