현재 KS(Korean Industrial Standards)에는 단열재의 종류마다 각각의 규정들이 분류되어 명시되어 있다.

The development and diversity of building materials are required along with the demand for higher functionality and higher performance of buildings. In addition, there are many considerations such as performance, efficiency, and unit price in order to select an appropriate material. Among them, based on the zero energy policy of buildings, thermal insulation is the most important element in the passive building plan. As a result, the thickness of insulation is increasing due to the strengthening of energy related regulations of buildings promoted by the government, and the demand is rapidly increasing. Research is also underway on new insulation materials, construction methods, construction methods, and methods to complement problems such as fire, condensation and heat exchange.
At present, KS (Korean Industrial Standards) categorizes and stipulates the regulations for each type of insulation. Looking at these standards, the same performance criteria as thermal insulation are defined differently depending on the type. As a result, since it is inappropriate to compare with each other and performance cannot be evaluated, it is required to present a test method capable of comparing performance as a method for evaluating physical properties of insulation material. Further, since the insulating material is applied after finishing or inside the internal structure, it is difficult to evaluate and maintain and reinforce the future performance. Therefore, maintaining long-term thermal performance is important, but there is no way to define and manage production, shipment, transportation, storage and construction. Because there is no data on performance changes during the production, shipment, transportation, storage, and construction of insulation.
Therefore, in this study, we examined changes in physical properties over time by selecting organic insulating materials with a high occupation ratio and monitoring them by changing the exposure environment.
In theoretical considerations, we investigated the types and changes over time of organic insulation materials, compared the methods for examining the physical properties of organic insulation materials specified by KS, and examined differences and features. After that, it was classified and exposed as an organic heat insulating material according to the exposure environment then, color change, deformation, thermal conductivity, mass, moisture content (absorption) were measured. Moreover, the heat insulating material was immersed and the change of the amount of absorption according to time was examined.
The scope of this study is to analyze the experimental results by measuring the change in physical properties according to the exposure environment and time of the organic heat insulating material, and to compare the temporal change by the heat insulating material and examine the mutual effect.
In this way, we propose the necessity of performance evaluation standards that can be compared with each other in order to select appropriate thermal insulation materials according to environmental conditions, changes in physical properties over time, management standards, and construction conditions.
