Currently, the typical processing method for processing metal-based products adopts traditional manufacturing methods such as cutting and casting. These methods are inefficient in using materials, cost-ineffective in terms of supply and demand, and limitations in the working environment. There are several disadvantages, including the difficulty of machining complex shapes. To solve these problems, a new technology called 3D printing has been developed and deployed in industrial fields. However, in the case of metal 3D printing using a metal material, a process is performed in a state in which a material is melted by applying a specific high energy source to the material. In this way, problems related to heat generated as the material undergoes a change of state appear, and there is a demand for a technology that can compensate for the problems. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a Cold Spray process in which the state of the material does not change during the process and the process is performed as it is. The principle of a Cold Spray process is the technology of heating gas and metal material at the temperature below melting point of material and injecting material into supersonic gas of super-sonic level generated by nozzle of special shape and laminating it on the base plate. Plastic deformation occurs at the moment when the material hits the base material, and the minimum gas velocity for generating plastic deformation is defined by the particle velocity. The particle velocity depends on the material properties of the material, and the variable conditions required for the critical speed in the process include high pressure gas, heating temperature below the melting point, and supersonic nozzles. In the case of temperature conditions, there is a limitation in accelerating the gas to the heating temperature only by applying heat to the material to provide toughness and ductility to increase the lamination efficiency, thereby heating only below the melting point of the material. Therefore, this study summarizes the equations used to derive the quantitative dimensional values of each section to realize the theoretical background of the equipment configuration and the particle velocity at which the design and stacking of supersonic nozzles occur. In addition, fluid dynamics, supersonic fluid analysis methods, parameters used, and ansys results were presented. Based on the design, the experiment was carried out through the actual fabricated nozzles. As the result, the supply pressure and the heating temperature were set as variables, and the stacking thicknesses were compared.
