The purpose of this study was to analyze the contextual meaning and the difference between the Korean adverbs ‘Jeongmal’ and ‘Jinjja’ used in everyday life by Korean speakers. According to previous studies, ‘Jeongmal’ and ‘Jinjja’ were classified as degree adverb or adverb of manner. In this study, however, ‘Jeongmal’ and ‘Jinjja’ are defined as degree adverb and adverb of manner according to their meanings.
When ‘Jeongmal’ and ‘Jinjja’ were used to enhance veracity in a sentence, they are considered adverb of manner, and if they emphasize the degree of veracity of verbs, adjectives, or adjective roots, they are considered degree adverb. As a basis for dividing this, I observed that verbs, adjectives and adjective roots used such as ‘Jeongmal’ and ‘Jinjja’ can be used in combination with degree adverbs other than ‘Jeongmal’ and ‘Jinjja’, and if so, the verbs, adjectives and adjectives roots allow ‘Jeongmal’ and ‘Jinjja’ to perform their roles as degree adverbs. Conversely, that verbs, adjectives and adjectives roots were determined that if it could not be used together with degree adverbs, I judged it as adverb of manner, and this cases increase the veracity of the sentence.

In addition, the sentence-closing ending was also listed in the order of the number of times it was used together with ‘Jeongmal’ and ‘Jinjja’, and only meaningful results were shown in the table.
