The purpose of this study is to explore ways of reading education that allow learners to have a deep understanding of text based on Bachelard's theory of Imagination. Deep understanding involves self-understanding and insight, going further from text reading. Bachelard defined Imagination as the first mental activity of man, and as an image that appears as one imagines, it looks deeply into life and the world. Also, Imagination makes the text resonate and enables deep understanding. The learner realizes his or her understanding of himself based on the understanding of text, and changes in new perceptions lead to a shift in positive presence. With this in mind, Chapter II examines the meaning of Bachelard's Imagination by dividing it into features and functions. Furthermore, it explains the dynamic induction and valorisation that appear in the way Bachelard's Imagination is applied in the text. And discuss the characteristics and directions that imagination applies to the task of reading. Finally, the meaning of Imagination in reading education and the conditions for application are discussed. Chapter III presents the principles of reading guidance based on Imagination as the principles of openness, the principles of circularity and the principles of dynamism. Reading guidance steps based on this principle are designed to be selected-imagined-understanding-deepened. The selection phase is divided into 'identification of content' and 'designating targets' activities, and the second imagining phase consists of 'finding target characteristics' and 'selecting characteristics'. The third stage of understanding is the 'knowing the target characteristics' and 'feeling the retentissement', and the final stage of deepening consists of 'reviewing' and 'checking the differences'. The researchers selected children's story text for the 6th grade study participants in elementary school and conducted the 4th reading class. And based on the course course and activity site of the study participants, the responses and the results of the class were analyzed. As a result, Imagination-based reading confirmed that the learner had realized the understanding and self-understanding of the text. This study seeks open thinking in text reading based on Imagination and makes us grasp the essential meaning of text. In addition, it is meaningful to encourage the active and dynamic understanding process of the learner in the reading process to help the learner's own understanding and to lead internal growth, a change in the developmental perception structure. Through this study, we hope that research will be carried out to encourage deep understanding of learners in reading education and to help establish and change learners' egos.
