Recently, as the market for electronic devices such as smart phones and tablet PCs expands, research on energy storage devices applied to miniaturized and light-weight devices is being conducted, and capacitors are attracting attention as miniaturized electronic devices. Although ceramic is used as a major material for capacitors, it has limitations such as environmental issues related to manufacturing, increased raw material prices, area occupied by devices, and limitations in miniaturization. Therefore, studies on embedded capacitors, which are circuit-embedded capacitors, are actively being conducted, and studies on dielectric materials applicable to this are also actively being conducted. In this study, we synthesized Cu-PI and Cu-CN nanoparticles as a high dielectric composite filler for polymer-matrix composites(PMC) that can be used as an embedded capacitor by using polyimide, carbon nitride nanosheets, copper precursor. Polyimide is a high heat-resistant engineering plastic material with high thermal stability, chemical resistance, and insulation properties. Carbon nitride nanosheets have solvent insoluble, chemically inert, high specific surface area, surface activity and high nitrogen content. Copper is widely used around the world. Composite films of several to tens of μm were prepared using Cu-PI and Cu-CN nanoparticles as filler material and polystyrene as matrix material, and the dielectric properties of these films were investigated. For application to an embedded capacitor, a device in the form of a parallel plate consisting of an ITO electrode and a gold electrode was fabricated. The 1:4 Cu-PI nanoparticles showed the best shape with a particle size of 100-200 nm. The high dielectric film was prepared by a solution casting method, and a polystyrene 2nd layer was formed. The 1:4 Cu-PI/PS films at filler contents of 30, 40, 50 and 60 wt% showed dielectric constants of 12, 22, 67 and 326 at 10 kHz and dielectric loss of 0.0115, 0.0128, 0.0363 and 0.0358 at 100 kHz respectively. Leakage current density values were 57, 118, 33 and 189 nA/cm2 respectively at 0.02 MV/cm. In the case of 1:2 Cu-CN nanoparticles, Cu particles having a size of 1 to 5 nm were best distributed. This study was carried out for the purpose of developing a high dielectric composite material and manufacturing a composite material film using a metal precursor and a functional polymer. In order to overcome the limitations of ferroelectric ceramic materials due to the development of the electronic device industry, we expect the development of various high dielectric composite materials.
