Gut microbiota is affected by various factors such as diet, region, and living environment. Consequently, gut microbiota, even belonging to the same family, have differences in terms of composition. In case of a disease, the balance of gut microbiota is disrupted, resulting in dysbiosis, showing a different composition of microbes than when they were healthy. This change in composition leads to functional differences between healthy gut microbiota and dysbiosis gut microbiota. This study was conducted to confirm the genetic difference between Bifidobacterium breve strains isolated from feces of control and AD patients. Fecal samples collected from a total of 18 infants and were cultured in seven types of media to isolate 34 species and 66 strains. Among these, the result of performing an immunological analysis on the 5 strains of B. breve obtained, MHL_0062 and MHL_0043 showed relatively strong anti-inflammatory reactions compared to MHL_0001. As a result of comparative genome analysis based on the data obtained through whole genome sequencing, it was confirmed that there existed differences in protein sequences of MHL_0062, MHL_0043, MHL_0001, and MHL_0068, and 6 genes with differences within each strain were identified. As a result, it could be confirmed that MHL_0043, MHL_0001, and MHL_0068 expressed more genes related to inflammation compared to MHL_0062 isolated from the control group. Based on the genetic differences between the gut microbiota in the control group and the AD patients identified through this study, it will be able to help understand the relationship between microbes and atopic dermatitis at the sequence level in the future.
