Chopin Sonata No.2 in B-flat minor Op.35에 대한 분석 및 연주기법 연구 본 연구의 목적은 Chopin Sonata No.2 B-flat minor Op.35 중심으로 쇼팽의 음 악적인 특징들이 이 작품을 통해 어떤 방식의 피아노 음악 특징을 가지고 있으며, 어떠한 연주기법이 활용되고 표현되는지 고찰해 보고자 한다.

The purpose of this study is to examine how Chopin's musical characteristics have the characteristics of piano music through this work, and which performance techniques are utilized and expressed, centering on Chopin Sonata No.2 B-flat minor Op.35 do. Furthermore, based on the above characteristics, I would like to examine what kind of connection it has with the romantic era and what is the difference from the classic Sonata. Above all, this study aims to be of help in understanding and application of actual performance techniques in the field, along with prior understanding of how Chopin Sonata No.2 in B-flat minor Op.35 is interpreted by achieving this series of processes. In order to achieve this purpose, this study established the following specific research procedures and conducted research. Chapter 1 is an introduction to the background and necessity of the study, and the contents and methods of the study. Chapter 2 focused on Chopin's life, music, and understanding of the piano sonata to lay the foundation for the analysis and performance technique of Sonata No. 2. Chapter 3, the first movement, the second movement, the 3rd movement, and the 4th movement were analyzed and performance techniques were reviewed, preceded by the work outline of Sonata No. 2 work analysis and performance technique. Chapter 4 presents research results and implications, limitations of the research, and future research tasks. The research results explored through the above research process are as follows. First, in terms of formality, it can be found that the development of the subject, the composition and arrangement of the movement, the melody and harmony, and the movement of the composition are very innovative compared to the traditional sonata form. Specifically, the western part is shorter than the classical sonata, and the first theme is omitted from the reproduction part of the first movement. The second movement is Scherzo, and this can be found to be different from the general arrangement of movements of the 2nd and 3rd movements of the Classical Sonata. The third movement forms the center of this sonata. It is judged that the use of the slow movement and the simple structure of A-B-A emphasize the bitter melody more dramatically. The fourth movement uses octave unison in succession, and it is extremely rare for both hands to play the same note simultaneously at one octave interval. It can be judged that it was composed with a very original and free feeling and expression in terms of form. Second, when it comes to melody, Chopin's distinctive styles such as singing and nocturnal melody were confirmed. The subject melody can be judged that it is repetitive, transformed, and expanded so as to feel the unity of the song by
using sound motive. In the text, it is specifically presented for each movement. Third, in terms of harmony, composition, and rhythm, it can be judged that a sense of color is given by using a transposition using a chromatic scale and an imyeong homophony and a remote transposition using a homomorphic progression. In addition, it is judged that it is adding an effect to the musical emotional expression by using the rubato tempo and lyrical melody. This study focused on the interpretation for Chopin Sonata No.2 in B-fla minor Op.35, rather than the interpretation for the performers, in the performance technique and emotional aspects. Chopin's music can be interpreted in various ways, but the performance technique was analyzed to enable detailed performance such as emotional feeling, framing treatment and pedal usage for effective performance and faithful to Chopin's original compositional intention. Chopin's Sonata No. 2 was based on a classicist form, leading to an organic sense of unity between each movement. In terms of content, it is very free and takes an unconventional sonata form. From the point of view of harmonious progression, it can be concluded that the use of various subject melodies, the use of a homophonic tone, chromatic transposition, and homomorphic progression, digested and created the sonata form as a romantic music with Chopin's unique musical technique and style.
