In January 2007, Vietnam joined the World Trade Organization (WTO), and has established itself as an FTA hub in the ASEAN region through its aggressive market opening policy and expansion of the FTA network. In particular, the CPTPP and EVFFTA agreements entered into force in 2019 and 2020, respectively, and these two agreements are expected to contribute to the growth of the Vietnamese logistics market. According to the World Bank in 2018, Vietnam's LIP index ranked 39th out of 160 countries, ranking 3rd in Southeast Asia after Singapore and Thailand. The logistics market in Vietnam is evaluated to be a market with high potential, and the growth rate of the logistics industry is also constantly rising. With the rapid development of the Vietnamese logistics industry, Korean companies need to respond quickly to seize opportunities to participate in the Vietnamese logistics market. From 2014 to 2019, among Vietnam's domestic investment countries, Korea maintained the No. 1 position in the size and number of investments, becoming Vietnam's strategic economic partner. Although trade sales between the two countries are gradually increasing, logistics costs in Vietnam are significantly higher than in neighboring countries, and logistics costs are an obstacle to Korean companies entering Vietnam. However, the high logistics cost is also an opportunity for foreign companies to invest in the Vietnamese logistics market. This study analyzes Vietnam's logistics market, investment situation, trade transactions between Vietnam and Korea, and analyzes the case of CJ Logistics. Through this, it proposes a plan for Korean companies to invest in the Vietnamese logistics market.
