Exhibition industry brings many benefits to the destination. Many countries are expanding their investment in the exhibition industry by recognizing its value added. The quality of exhibition visitors is a key point to attract and maintain high quality exhibitions. Both organizers and exhibitors should make efforts to attract high quality visitors Therefore, this study introduces Strategic Experience Modules (SEMs) for exhibitors, one of the experiential marketing means that can attract visitors. And also introduces the five experiential modules of Schmitt (1999) to reveal the role of the experiential elements in exhibition industry that attracts visitors. The Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM) was introduced to elucidate the differences in attitudes formed by visitors' experience at the booth. In addition, visitors' purchase intention and sharing intention directly connected with participation performance of exhibitors were measured. Therefore, this process was structured in the order of experience, attitude, and behavioral intention which is similar as SOR model. A total of 374 valid data were collected from the visitors who had experience in the exhibition booth from January to March 2018. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, statistical methods such as reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and causal analysis were used. Consequently, five types of booth experience perceived by visitors were found through exploratory factor analysis, namely “Sense”, “Feel”, “Think”, “Relate” and “Act”. Also there are two factors such as “Brand attitude” and “Experience attitude” were found as visitors’ attitude. Likewise, “Purchase intention” and “Sharing intention”. The results showed that there is a causal relationship between booth experiences perceived by visitors and visitors’ attitude. As indirect experiences, “Relate” has positive effects on ELM’s central route-“Brand attitude”; as direct experiences, “Sense”, “Feel”, “Think” and “Act” have positive effects on ELM’s peripheral route-“Experience attitude”. Even visitors have high personal relevance to exhibitions, they didn’t show a tendency towards central route rather than peripheral route which revealed in previous researches. In another word, booth experience has more effect on peripheral route rather than on central route based on this study. But the peripheral route also have a positive effect on the central route which showed as “Experience attitude” has a positive effect on “Brand attitude”. Meanwhile “Experience attitude” and “Brand attitude” have positive effects on “Purchase intention”, but only “Experience attitude” has a positive effect on “Sharing intention”. Hence, exhibitors should emphasize peripheral route in order to achieve the goal of performance. This study showed the importance of SEMs in exhibition industry. With a wealth of supply resources nowadays, consumers are not merely rational decision makers but are active and emotionally charged people. This is why exhibitors need experience marketing and need to operate the booth experience.
