Recently, the map utilization environment is developing around the use of web maps online. Currently, the most common web map service method is a method of transmitting pre-produced raster image tiles. This method has attracted attention as a groundbreaking method of securing the performance of web map services and is most widely used so far, but it has various limitations, raising the need for a new service method. The absolute majority of current web map services are simple images that are impossible to convert map styles and coordinate systems and do not have geometric structures or attribute information. Recently, as the use of location information has become more common and the level of user demand has increased, the need for interactive web map services has emerged, but most geo-web platforms provide provider-centered services, hindering the possibility of application by users. In this study, a specific method for optimizing the interactive web map service capable of freely creating topics and utilizing attributes through interaction with users was presented. Style guides and LoD(level of detail) were defined to improve the aesthetic quality of the layers constituting the map and to facilitate identification, and a plan to secure performance through three methods was presented and the effect of speed improvement was verified. In particular, the time required for web map visualization was reduced by up to 84.9% through the application of logical merging and transmission methods of layers, and individual map style control was possible even in merged layers by suggesting object-level style application methods. Through this, the foundation was laid for the dissemination and activation of interactive web map services that have not been activated due to performance problems.
