In this paper, I propose a simulation structure based on data distribution service (DDS) communication with the ROS2 framework to confirm the implementation and operation of the ADAS system model mounted in the AUTOSAR Adaptive application. The proposal is verified through the implementation of the lane keeping assistance system (LKAS) model. Recently, the complexity of software and electronic structure mounted on the electronic control device (ECU) of a vehicle is increasing. This is because the technology required for vehicle systems is rapidly upgrading. The importance of AUTOSAR, a standard vehicle software platform, is gradually increasing worldwide to reduce the number of Automotive ECU and to reduce the complexity of vehicle software. In 2017, the AUTOSAR Association announced an adaptive platform that can respond to the continuously getting advanced technical requirements of vehicles. Adaptive platforms adopt service-based communication structures to provide more flexible communication mechanisms, and support high-performance computing, enabling future-oriented application design. The AUTOSAR Association added DDS communication binding from the R18-10 release of the Adaptive Platform. This is because data-oriented communication techniques have become important as the number and capacity of data used in vehicles increase. Adaptive Platform's DDS binding, which complies with OMG's DDS standards, can interoperate with DDS systems across industries. Various network binding of Adaptive platforms has improved the connectivity of the platform, and DDS network binding has recently enabled interconnection with ROS2, which is widely used across various industries. The ROS framework was initially a tool to support robot software development but is now actively used in vehicle software development. As technical requirements for autonomous driving are advanced, ROS, which can secure real-time and visualize and simulate the designed system, is drawing attention. Unlike ROS1, which used its own communication library, ROS 2 operates based on DDS that meets industrial standards. With the introduction of DDS of ROS2, communication between various applications has become possible. During the simulation stage in the ADAS system development stage, a simulation structure is proposed to verify the operation of the Adaptive application that will be installed in the actual production vehicle . Adaptive platforms and ROS2 nodes can communicate using DDS communication, and in this paper, I propose SILS implementation of the LKAS model by communication solutions of two systems based on DDS communication. The operation of the LKAS model is performed in the adaptive application that received data on lanes through DDS communication and an algorithm that detects lanes is ported in the ROS2 node. The proposed system is implemented in an SILS environment using the system emulators QEMU and ROS2 framework within linux, and the structure of the proposed model is verified through experimental results.
