최근 기업활동에 있어서 ESG(Environmental, Social, Governance) 경영은 기업브랜드 및 기업이미지를 관리하는 주요한 전략으로 부각되고 있다.

In recent corporate activities, ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) management is emerging as a major strategy for managing corporate brand and corporate image. This is because the non-financial performance of shared growth as well as increased sales acts as an important factor in corporate management to prepare for an unpredictable future and promote sustainable management, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. However, golf course companies are recording the highest profit ever due to the boom caused by COVID-19, but there are many criticisms that they lack quality management of facilities such as golf courses and customer service, especially passive in golf course companies' social roles. On the other hand, golf course companies recognize ESG management activities as a very important paradigm for sustainable management, but the results of how these activities affect consumer behavior from a consumer perspective were unknown. Accordingly, this study was conducted to identify the relationship between the formation and influence of corporate image and intention of use caused by ESG management activities of golf course companies, and to suggest effective strategic directions for ESG management activities of domestic golf course companies in the future. A model was established to study the effect of ESG factors such as Environment, Social, and Governance as independent variables on intention to use, which is a dependent variable, through corporate image as a parameter. For the empirical analysis, after conducting a mobile and field survey using the convenience sampling method for 10 days from October 27, 2021 targeting adult users with experience in using domestic golf courses, an empirical analysis was conducted based on a total of 294 valid samples. The research results through empirical analysis are as follows. First, it was found that the ESG management activities of golf course companies had a positive (+) effect on the corporate image, and the "environment" among ESG management activities had the greatest impact on the corporate image. Second, it was confirmed that it had a positive (+) effect on the analysis of the influence relationship between the image and use intention of the golf course company. Third, in the analysis of the impact relationship between ESG management activities and intention to use golf course companies, it was found that the 'environment' had the greatest effect on the intention to use ESG management activities. Fourth, as a result of confirming the role of the parameter of corporate image in the relationship between ESG management activities and intention to use, only 'environmental' activities played a partial mediating role and had a direct effect on intention to use. Based on the results of this study, the following implications can be suggested. First, most of the recent previous studies related to ESG management activities looked at the effects of investment perspectives and financial management performance, and studies on how ESG management activities affect consumer behavior are insignificant. Therefore, this study can be said to have made an academic contribution in that it attempted to investigate the relationship between the formation and influence of corporate image and usage intentions induced by ESG management activities in the leisure industry. Second, it verifies that golf course companies' ESG management activities have a positive (+) effect on their intention to use, securing justification for ESG management activities for companies, and providing implications that ESG management activities are expensive but valuable investments. Third, as part of a differentiation strategy to gain a competitive advantage of golf course companies, guidelines for establishing effective communication strategies that increase the value of products perceived by consumers by enhancing corporate image were presented. Fourth, "environment" was identified as the most important factor recognized by consumers in golf course companies, suggesting that golf course companies focus on "environment" during ESG activities to dispel the negative image of environmental destruction and build an eco-friendly image.
