While globalization and internationalization of higher education are constantly developing, the international student group is rapidly expanding into a new international migration group (educational migration), unlike the traditional migrant group (labor migration, marriage migration). Among them, as the number of Chinese students residing in Korea increases, their problems not only emerge as a major problem in the educational field inside schools, but also become a social issue due to the problem of adjusting to life in Korea outside of school. It also gradually influenced the internationalization strategy of Korean universities and the development of Korean multicultural society. Existing studies on Chinese students in Korea focused on the study motives of Chinese students residing in Korea at the beginning of the study. After that, most of the research similarly deals with the selection of Korea for reasons such as the expansion of influence on Korean culture due to the ‘Korean Wave’, the relatively lower cost of studying abroad than the United States or the United Kingdom, geographical proximity, historical and cultural homogeneity, and job competitiveness. In recent years, academic studies have mainly focused on the life process of international students in China. Research on this has been focused on cultural adaptation in recent research on Korean language education and research on living conditions. Most of the subjects of previous research are Chinese international students born in the 1980s and early 1990s. However, the majority of Chinese international students currently attending language schools and undergraduates in Korea were born in the late 1990s or 2000s. As China develops rapidly, this time difference has become more pronounced. Therefore, a new analysis is needed to reflect these generational characteristics. This thesis comprehensively examines the motivations for studying abroad and the cultural adaptation situation of Chinese students in Korea using migration theory. After studying whether or not it appears, I would like to study what the difficulties of Chinese international students adjusting to Korean culture are and what factors appear. The analysis of study abroad motivation was summarized in three results. First, I chose to study abroad because I wanted to enhance my personal qualifications and employment competitiveness to gain curiosity and interest in foreign cultures, to experience multiculturalism and to secure an international perspective. Second, as a result of the interview, the number of study participants who came to study in Korea because of Hallyu culture was unexpectedly small. The cause of Hallyu culture's weakening influence on China is the Chinese government's 'cultural confidence' strategy and the rapid growth of China's entertainment industry, promoting 'national studies' in China, or private-level 'after the THAAD incident'. You can see the 'Han Han-ryeong' movement. In this part, Chinese students can also show confidence in the social and cultural aspects of China with geopolitical power. Third, as mentioned in previous studies, many Chinese studying abroad did not know any information about Korean schools until they came to Korea, but as Chinese students return to their home countries, especially as Korean students return to their home countries, information sharing of Chinese students’ peer group social networks, public opinion, Our international peers can now see an intensifying social network influence when choosing their country of study, including concerns about the safety of Western countries. In terms of cultural adaptation, it was found that Chinese international students in Korea wanted to experience Korean culture more actively while studying at a Korean language institute than when they were enrolled in undergraduate studies. It is believed that this is the period when the initial intention of choosing to study abroad in Korea for cultural experience comes into play, and at that time, there was a lot of free time without academic stress. When adjusting to their studies, Chinese undergraduate students had a perception that they were inferior due to language barriers, limitations in socializing and interacting with Korean friends, a sense of distance from professors, and unfamiliarity with the school. If we look at the causes, the difference in language requirements between the language school and the faculty, the confrontation between students created by the politics and public opinion between the two countries, the romance of an equal priestly relationship like a Western friend, and the estranged relationship between Korean students and professors, and international students at Korean universities It was found to be due to the difference between the open and free way of managing students in China and the way of intensive management of students in Chinese universities. Lastly, problems such as failure to blend into the social and cultural life of local Koreans when adapting to suburban life, feelings of loneliness and isolation while living on their own, neglect and discrimination when working part-time, and rethinking about national policy emerged. The cause can be seen as the two-sided effect of the Chinese community, lack of self-reliance, and the gap between Chinese students' confidence in Chinese social culture, which has geopolitical power, and the treatment they receive in Korean societ
