민간기록물(民間記錄物)은 각 지역의 고유한 지역성과 지역민들의 참여로 구성되어 있다. 따라서 공공기관에서 생산되는 기록물과 다른 관점에서 다가가야 한다. 그에 대한 대안(代案)으로 현재 마을아카이브 연구가 사회 저변에서 이루어지고 있다.
현재 익산시는 익산역 원도심 일대를 중심으로 ‘마을 만들기 운동’이 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 근현대 익산의 발생지이자 중심지였기 때문이다.
본 연구는 이곳에서 이루어지고 있는 각 주체별 마을 기록화 현황을 살펴보고 지속가능성을 위한 활성화 방안을 제안하였다. 그 결과 익산 마을아카이브가 당면한 문제는 제도적 문제, 공간 활용, 지역민 참여로 압축되었다.
따라서 다음과 같은 익산 마을아카이브 활성화 방안을 제안하였다. 첫째, 공공기관 연계 협력 방안이다. 둘째, 에코뮤지엄 공간 활용 방안이다. 셋째, 지역민 기록화 참여 방안이다.
현재 익산시는 본격적으로 지역 기록화사업을 추진하고 있으며, 도시재생지원센터를 중심으로 마을주민들의 활발한 기록 활동이 이루어지고 있다. 따라서 향후 마을아카이브가 활성화 될 것으로 기대된다. 이에 본 연구는 익산 마을아카이브 활성화 방안을 모색함으로써 그 방향성을 제공하고자 한다.

Now, there are invigorating activities of ‘making village movement’ with the original downtown around the Iksan Station as the center figure, because it was the origin and center of the modern Iksan City.
This study reviewed the current status of documenting villages by subjects in this area, and suggested how to invigorate it for sustainability. As a result, the problems faced by the Iksan Village Archives are summarized into system issues, spatial use, and local citizens’ participation.
Therefore, How to invigorate the Iksan Village Archives are suggested as follows: First, it is to link and cooperate with public institutes. Second, it is to use ecomuseum spaces, and third, it is for local citizens to participate in documenting localities.
Iksan City is currently pursuing to document localities, and there are active activities of documenting localities by the village people, as urban regeneration support centers take the lead in them. Therefore, it is expected that the village archives will be invigorated. Accordingly, this study aims offering the directions by seeking how to invigorate the Iksan Village Archives.
