The Internet, which enables the creation, collection and exchange of information at low cost, may expose the public to the risk of disinformation. Among false information, fake news pretends to be in the form of news content and appears whenever important events occur, causing social confusion. When considering its influence, fake news needs to be responded separately from other false information. Efforts to detect fake news have recently taken a new turn. Deep learning, which shows excellent performance in the field of artificial intelligence, solves various problems in reality, and shows excellent resolution even in more complex problems as advances in general-purpose computing on graphics processing units (GPGPU) and tensor processing units (TPU) have improved significantly. Deep learning is also actively used in research to detect fake news. Fake news detection approaches, such as automatically recognizing and blocking fake news through natural language processing (NLP), and detecting social media influencer accounts that spread disinformation by combining it with network causal inference It could be implemented through deep learning. However, detection of fake news is classified as a difficult problem among many NLP fields. Due to the diversity of forms and expressions of fake news, the difficulty of extracting features is high, and there are various limitations, such as a single feature may have different meanings depending on the category to which the news belongs. In this paper, emotional change patterns are presented as an additional identification criterion for detecting fake news. We propose a model with improved performance by applying Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) to fake news datasets to perform content characteristics-based analysis and further analyze emotional change patterns. Previous studies have confirmed the connection between fake news and emotion, such as intentionally encouraging readers' anxiety through false information, and news audiences exposed to fake news form doubts about the news through perception of uncertainty. Therefore, it is judged that the analysis of emotional patterns can provide important insights to distinguish fake news. By calculating the emotional polarity of the sentences constituting the news and applying Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), a result value dependent on the sentence order can be obtained. We define this as a pattern of emotional change, combine it with the content characteristics of news, and use it as an independent variable in the proposed model for detecting fake news. By training the proposed model and the comparative model through deep learning and conducting an experiment using the fake news dataset, it is confirmed that the emotional change pattern can improve the fake news detection performance.
