Research on material synthesis and structural improvement of organic optoelectronic devices such as OPV, OPD, and OLED is actively conducted. ZnO is widely used as an electron transport layer of organic optoelectronic devices due to its excellent electrical conductivity, high transmittance, and thermal stability. This study used a sol-gel synthesis method to obtain a uniform thin film to form a ZnO and applied it to an organic optoelectronic device. In order to form a ZnO thin film, since zinc reacts with oxygen in the atmosphere at a high temperature (over 450°C), heat damage is given to the lower layer. So, by controlling the molar concentrations of zinc acetate and ethanolamine, a ZnO precursor solution that forms a ZnO film even at low temperature (150℃) was applied. Low-temperature heat-treated sol-gel ZnO was applied to an inverted structure organic solar cell to achieve a short-circuit current density of 15.13mA/cm2 , an open-circuit voltage of 0.90V, and a fill factor of 65.30%, resulting in a power conversion efficiency of 8.89%. Thickness optimization was performed by adjusting the concentration of the new ZnO precursor solution. As the thickness decreased, the short-circuit current density increased and achieved a short-circuit current density of 15.81 mA/cm2 at 10 nm, but the open circuit voltage decreased. 14nm ZnO has a short-circuit current density of 14.91mA/cm2 , and the open-circuit voltage does not decrease, achieving a power conversion efficiency of 8.78%. Then, the optimized ZnO was doped with a dopant to compare the characteristics of the solar cell. The dopant material is a metal material such as Al and Yb, and when doping at an appropriate concentration, it has a low dark current and thus acts advantageously for the organic photodetector. When the doping concentration of Al and Yb was 1%, the best characteristics were shown, - v - and an organic photodetector was applied. The doped sol-gel ZnO showed 10 to 100 times lower dark current than nanoparticle ZnO and undoped sol-gel ZnO, which was about 1.61×1012 Jones (-2V, 600 nm) in photodiode mode and about 7.26×1010 Jones (-2V, 550nm) in photoconductor mode shows a specific detectivity. ZnO, a solution material, can be applied to inkjet printing technology. IPA-based nanoparticle ZnO was not dropped at a maximum voltage of 40V in a 20mg/ml concentration, which was previously used in organic solar cells and organic photodetectors. However, at 15mg/ml with a lower concentration, the most stable drop was achieved when a 22V staired voltage waveform was applied. In the case of sol-gel ZnO, the stable drop was achieved in a 40V bipolar waveform, and various sol-gel ZnO drop properties can be secured through negative voltage control. In the case of dot printing of sol-gel ZnO, it had a more stable dot shape when the platen temperature was applied.
