The Korean casino industry is facing intensifying competition and pandemics in casino industries around the world, including neighboring countries. In this situation, casinos with a competitive advantage can not only reduce damage through flexible response, but also prepare for a rapid increase in demand due to retaliatory consumption that occurs after the end of the pandemic situation. Accordingly, it is necessary to derive specific competitive factors for sustainable growth through strengthening qualitative competitiveness, not strengthening competitiveness in terms of size, holding international position and competitive advantage in the domestic casino industry. Accordingly, this study aims to develop models and indicators that can measure the competitiveness of the casino industry by understanding the concept of competitiveness in the context of the casino industry and identifying the key elements that make up competitiveness. To achieve this purpose, a new model that can be applied to the casino industry was presented based on the factors presented in prior studies on the competitiveness of the casino and tourism industry, the country, and the service industry. To verify this, expert surveys and AHP were used. In conducting the study, 22 experts in the casino industry were selected and a total of three expert surveys were conducted to derive the final indicators. The reliability of the indicator was obtained through the Cronbach's α value, and an AHP survey was conducted on 22 experts to derive the relative weight for each final indicator. The results derived through this analysis are as follows. First, the model proposed through the initial prior study consisted of 6 upper concepts and 70 detailed indicators, but in the final model, it was derived as 5 upper concepts, 14 lower concepts, and 49 detailed indicators. The relative weight of the higher concept was 24.4% of the factors underlying the casino industry, followed by government policies (22.6%) reflecting the characteristics of the regulated casino industry, and the lowest proportion was derived as human resources (15.2%). As a comprehensive ranking and weight on detailed indicators that measure the competitiveness of the casino industry. The No. 1 ranking was "Casino-related R&D Support Investment Budget" with 5.99 percent of the total, followed by "Casino Employee Education Support Budget" with 5.42 percent, and the lowest ranking of 49th was "Gallery" with 0.054 percent. This study is significant in that it has developed a measure that can actually measure competitiveness in the casino industry by building a model for competitiveness of the casino industry and drawing priorities according to detailed measurement items and weights, and through this, it can provide a direction to overcome the deepening competitive environment between countries. However, it has limitations such as not fully reflecting the operation type of the domestic casino industry and lack of prior research related to casino competitiveness, and further research related to the competitiveness of integrated resorts should be conducted.
