Urban Air Mobility (UAM) is expected to operate simultaneously at relatively low altitudes in densely populated urban areas, which increases the likelihood of spreading the noise issues that have been experienced by communities near existing airports to the entire city center. In particular, in Korea, where urban density is high and the population is densely concentrated, it is not possible to establish operational routes to areas without population. Additionally, noise reduction through rotor and motor design alone has limitations in reducing the noise generated by UAM aircraft. Therefore, it is crucial to develop UAM operational strategies that minimize the impact of noise, as it is considered a key factor for the commercialization of UAM. However, research on criteria for evaluating operational methods that can minimize the impact of noise in UAM is lacking, necessitating discussions on determining the criteria for operations. This paper generated an operational noise map for UAM using the FAA's AEDT (Aviation Environmental Design Tool) and proposed criteria for evaluating operational noise using the Python programming language. By utilizing GIS data containing information about each administrative district within the capital region, we developed code to analyze the extent to which UAM operational noise affects different administrative districts. Additionally, this paper developed code using population data to predict the number of individuals affected by noise, thus enabling the analysis of the impact of operational noise on local communities.
