선행학습의 문제점은 무엇인가? 그러나 교육 시민운동 단체‘사교육 걱정 없는 세상’의 정책대안연구소는 ‘선행학습 토론회’에서 서울ㆍ경기지역 초6ㆍ중3ㆍ고3 학생 약 1,000명을 대상으로 실시한 설문조사 및 수학평가 성적 분석 결과 선행학습은 성적과 통계적으로 유의미한 변인(變因)이 아닌 것으로 나타났다고 결론을 내렸다3). 한편, 이 선행학습은 뇌신경세포가 엉성하고 가는 상태인 성장 중인 아이들에게 선행학습을 과도하게 시키는 경우 뇌에 과부화가 일어나 과잉학습장애, 우울증, 불안장애, 각종 정신질환 등이 발생할 수 있다는 우려들도 나오고 있어, ‘시기에 맞는 교육법과 내용’에 대한 뇌과학적 분석과 한의학적인 다양한 분야의 연구가 필요할 것으로 판단되었다.
영아기 발달에 도움을 주는 경험에는 무엇이 있는가? 또한 오감을 통하여 들어오는 정보 중 약 95%는 시각ㆍ청각ㆍ촉각을 통해 들어온다고 하였다. 따라서 영아기에는 한 가지 학습 개념을 언어, 신체표현, 미술, 조형, 음악, 물감, 반죽 등 다양한 매체로 표상하는 경험이 좋다고 하였다.
