브랜드에 대한 소비자 지각 형성에 영향을 미치는 요인은 무엇이 있는가? 브랜드 정체성이란 ‘시간이 흘러도 변하지 않는 특성화된 요소들로 인해 독특하다고 인지되는 브랜드 역량’이다(Chevalier & Mazzalovo, 2008/2012). 브랜드 정체성은 브랜드 이름, 심벌, 개성, 이미지, 연상 등 브랜드에 대한 소비자 지각 형성에 영향을 미치는 요인들이 혼합된 개념이며 브랜드의 판매 및 광고 전략을 포함하기도 한다(Sohn, 2003).
