한약 치료를 서양의학보다 선호할 것이라고 보는 사례는 무엇이 있는가? 이와 관련하여 실제 의료현장에서 한의학과 경쟁관계7)에 있는 서양의학과의 비교에서 두 의료에 대한 건강보험 보장성이 동일하다면 서양의학보다 한의진료를 선호할 수 있다는 점, 특히 한약 치료를 선호할 것이라는 것이 교통사고 상해의 사례를 통해 일부 확인되었다8,9). 이러한 국민들의 한의학 선호는 한의학에 대한 공식적인 차별이 시작되던 일제시기부터 지속되어 왔다10).
