집게상과의 계통 분류는? 집게상과(Paguroidea)는 이미하목(Anomura)에 속하는 십각류(decapod)로 빈 복족류 패각이나 몇몇 공혈에 서식하는 데 적응한 생물군이다(Hazlett 1981). 집게상과는 냉대부터 열대까지의 해양환경에 널리 분포하고 있고 (McLaughlin 1980; 1983), 현재까지 6과 120속 1,106종 이상이 보고되었다(McLaughlin et al.
한국산 집게상과의 분류 연구의 문제점은 무엇이 있는가? 이러한 종 다양성 및 생태적 중요성으로 인해 한국에서도 집게류에 관한 연구가 상당수 진행되었으며(Kim 1973; 1985; 오 2000; Kim and Son 2006; Ko and McLaughlin 2008; Jung and Kim 2014, 2015, 2017; Kim and Kim, 2017) 근래에 해당 연구들을 집대성하여 3과 18속 57종의 종목록이 발표되기도 하였다(Kim and Kim 2014). 그러나 이와 같은 연구들에도 한국산 집게상과의 분류 체계에서 오동정, 한국명 혼동, 실존 여부 및 지리적 분포 불명 등과 같은 몇몇 문제점들이 발견되었다. 이러한 문제점들을 해결하기 위하여 한국에서 보고된 집게상과에 속한 종들에 대한 종합적인 분류학적 연구를 수행하였고 그 결과로서 한국산 집게류의 종목록과 지리적 분포현황을 본 논문에 제시하였다.
