Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare unsafe sex experiences of multicultural and non-multicultural adolescents. Methods: The study analyzed the data of 3,029 respondents who responded that they had sex in the Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-Based Survey of 2018. Weighted percentages and simple and multiple logistic regression were conducted using SAS 9.2. Results: As a result of univariate analysis, the odds ratio of unsafe sex was significantly higher in multicultural adolescents, but the difference between the two groups was not significant after controlling for the related variables. Among the covariates, the odds of unsafe sex were significantly higher in boys (AOR: 1.34; 95% CI: 1.08~1.66), those who did not live with their family (AOR: 1.68; 95% CI: 1.17~2.39), those with low academic achievement (AOR: 1.33; 95% CI: 1.02~1.73), binge drinkers (AOR: 1.61; 95% CI: 1.29~2.02), smokers (AOR: 1.37; 95% CI: 1.06~1.78), and those who did not receive sex education (AOR: 1.59; 95% CI: 1.20~2.11). Conclusion: There was no significant difference in unsafe sex experience between multicultural and non-multicultural adolescents. This study also shows the positive effect of school sex education on safe sex in teenagers. It is necessary to strengthen sex education for male students, students not living with their family, students with low academic achievement, binge drinkers, and smokers.

본 연구의 분석을 위해 질병관리본부 홈페이지를 통해 청소 년건강행태온라인조사의 원시자료 이용에 관한 승인을 받은후 자료를 다운받아 분석하였다. 총 60,040명이 원시자료에 포함되어 있었는데, 본 연구는 성관계 경험이 있다고 응답한 학생만을 대상으로 분석하였으므로, 최종분석에 포함된 학생 수는 3,209명이었다.

데이터처리

첫 번째 목표인 일반적 특성과 건강 관련 특성의 파악을 위해 빈도분석과 층화표출법에 따른 가중치가 적용된 백분율로 파악하였다. 또한 다문화 청소년과 비다문화 청소년의 일반적 특성과 건강 관련 특성의 차이를 비교하기 위해 가중치를 적용한 카이제곱검정법인 라오-스콧(Rao-Scott) 카이제곱검정을 실시하였다. 두 번째, 가중치를 적용한 단변량 로지스틱 회귀 분석을 통해 일반적 특성, 건강 관련 특성과 안전하지 않은 성관계 경험의 관련성을 파악하였다.
또한 다문화 청소년과 비다문화 청소년의 일반적 특성과 건강 관련 특성의 차이를 비교하기 위해 가중치를 적용한 카이제곱검정법인 라오-스콧(Rao-Scott) 카이제곱검정을 실시하였다. 두 번째, 가중치를 적용한 단변량 로지스틱 회귀 분석을 통해 일반적 특성, 건강 관련 특성과 안전하지 않은 성관계 경험의 관련성을 파악하였다. 셋째, 단변량 로지스틱 회귀분석에서 유의하게 나온 일반적 특성과 건강 관련 특성 변수 들을 보정한 상태에서 다문화 청소년과 비다문화 청소년의 안전하지 않은 성관계 경험이 유의하게 다른지 다변량 로지스틱 회귀분석(proc surveylogistic)을 통해 조사였다.

다문화 청소년과 비다문화 청소년의 안전하지 않은 성관계 경험은 유의한 차이가 없었다. 오히려 안전하지 않은 성관계를 유의하게 예측한 변수는 남학생, 가족과 동거하지 않는 학생, 성적이 낮은 학생, 폭음을 하는 학생, 흡연을 하는 학생, 성교육을 받지 않은 학생인 것으로 나타났다.
다문화 청소년과 비다문화 청소년의 안전하지 않은 성관계 경험은 유의한 차이가 없었다. 오히려 안전하지 않은 성관계를 유의하게 예측한 변수는 남학생, 가족과 동거하지 않는 학생, 성적이 낮은 학생, 폭음을 하는 학생, 흡연을 하는 학생, 성교육을 받지 않은 학생인 것으로 나타났다.

후속연구

이 두 선행연구에서는 남학생들보다 여학생들이 안전 하지 않은 성관계 경험의 오즈비가 유의하게 높았다. 이에 관한 원인으로는 우리나라 사회에서 여자 청소년들의 임신에 대한 편견이 심한 문화가 있으므로 여학생들이 피임에 대한 준비 도가 높을 가능성을 배제할 수 없으나, 정확한 원인에 관해서는 추후 자세한 연구가 필요하다고 할 수 있다. 또한 이러한 결과는 남학생들에게 피임 혹은 안전한 성관계에 대한 더 적극적인 교육의 필요성을 시사한다.
52배 증가하였다고 보고하였다 [16]. 따라서 이 결과들은 학교 성교육의 효과가 확실히 있음을 나타내주는 것이며, 성교육 시 안전한 성관계에 관한 교육을 더욱 강화할 필요가 있음을 시사한다. 학교 성교육의 경우 관 련교과 및 창의적 체험학습을 통해 이루어지 있는 실정이지만 [24], 받지 않았다고 응답한 학생들이 있는 것으로 유추해 볼때 모든 학교에서 실시되고 있지는 않는 것으로 보이므로, 이부분에 대한 개선이 시급히 요구된다.
