사일리지의 특징은? | 사일리지 생산은 고대 이집트(1,500-1,000 BC)에 동물 사료로 식물 원료를 저장하였다는 증거로 보아 오랜 전통의 역사를 가지고 있다(Alonso et al., 2013). 사일리지 제조는 온대 지역에서 조사료를 저장하는 대표적 방법으로 1960년대부터 전 세계적으로 급속히 증가하였다(Cheli et al., 2013). 사일리지는 농가에서 광범위하게 사용하고 있고, 축우생산 시스템에서 실질적 역할을 하고 있다. 현재, 사일리지의 품질은 화학적 발효 특성에 의하여 평가되고 있다. 그러나 박테리아, 곰팡이 및 이들의 대사산물(mycotoxins)은 가축의 생산과 건강에 영향을 주기 때문에 이들에 대한 고려가 반드시 이루어져야한다. |
