소셜 데이터, 공공 데이터, 개인정보 등을 이용한 다양한 서비스에 대한 요구가 증가하고 있다. 특히 개인정보를 활용하고 보호하기 위하여 미국, 유럽에서는 마이데이터에 대한 정책이 시도되고 있으며 2019년 국내에서도 마이데이터가 시행되었다. 본 연구는 우리나라 마이데이터 발전 방향을 제시하기 위하여 미국, 유럽의 마이데이터를 분석하였고 이를 기반으로 데이터 호환 및 데이터 품질 측면에서 발전 방향을 제안하였다.

2018년도 금융위원회가 마이데이터(MyData)를 발표한 배경은 무엇인가? 빅데이터 시대에 개인정보에 대한 관리 및 활용에 대한 요구가 급증하고 있다(김혜빈, 신원, 신상욱 2020). 복잡하고 다양한 금융 상품을 소비자가 합리적인 선택을 하도록 개인정보에 대한 관리 및 분석이 필요하다. 2010년 이래로 신용조회사, 핀테크 업체 등이 주도가 되어 제한적인 개인정보 조회 서비스가 제공되고 있다. 신용정보조회 산업은 소비자들의 신용관리에 대한 인식 제고, 인터넷 뱅킹, 다양한 모바일 페이먼트의 급증으로 신용조회에 대한 수요가 급증하고 있다. 하지만 국내의 핀테크 사업이 활성화되기 위해서는 개인정보 활용에 대한 대안이 필요한 실정이다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 개인정보의 주체인 개인이 본인의 개인정보를 제공함으로써 개인의 소비 형태 위험성향 등 개인정보에 대한 분석을 바탕으로 개별 소비자의 금융상품 추천 등 다양한 서비스를 받을 수 있는 플랫폼이 필요한 실정이다. 이러한 배경을 바탕으로 2018년도 금융위원회가 마이데이터(MyData)를 발표하였다.
마이데이터는 어떤 서비스인가? 이러한 시도 중 한 가지가 개인 정보를 활용하여 맞춤형 서비스를 제공하는 마이데이터(MyData)이다. 마이데이터는 개인 정보에 대한 권한을 개인에게 주고 개인에게 적절한 금융 정보를 제공 받을 수 있는 서비스 이다. 한국도 2019년 하반기에 금융 분야에서 마이데이터를 시행하였다.
