교사교육의 구성주의적 접근은 어떤 장점이 있는가? 현직 영아 수학적 탐색활동 지원을 위한 교사교육프로그램은 구성주의적 접근에 의한 교육프로그램으로 구성할 필요가 있다. 교사교육의 구성주의적 접근은 교육의 주체를 교사로 보고 적극적이고 능동적인 교사의 역할에 초점을 두므로(Kim, 2000; Lee, 1998), 교사가 자신의 경험에 기초하여 반성적 사고를 가지고 스스로 학습할 수 있도록 준비시키는데 효과적이다(An, 2003). 그럼에도 불구하고 영유아 보육 ·교육 현장에서 구성주의적 수학교사교육을 실행한 연구는 부족한 실정이다.
