벤처 창업이 크게 늘었으나 단기 성과로 성공여부를 판단하기는 어려우며, 지속적인 성장 전망을 보여주지 않고서는 기업의 생존을 담보할 수 없다. 벤처기업의 성장 요인으로 기술사업화역량 수준과 경쟁전략에 따른 경쟁력 수준이 중요하게 다루어지는 가운데 최근에는 혁신적인 비즈니스모델의 등장이 새로운 사업기회를 창출하면서 수많은 벤처 스타트업들의 성장을 견인하고 있다. 본 연구는 기술사업화역량 및 경쟁전략이 벤처기업의 성장전망에 미치는 영향관계에서 비즈니스모델 혁신매개효과를 규명하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2021년 벤처기업정밀실태조사 원데이터를 활용하여 실증 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 기술사업화역량의 제품화, 생산화, 마케팅 역량 및 경쟁전략의 원가우위, 차별화 수준은 성장전망에 정(+)의 영향을 미치고, 생산화역량을 제외한 모든 요인과 성장전망 간에 비즈니스모델 혁신의 매개효과도 검증되었다. 본 연구는 단기적 기업성과 외에 장기적 성장전망에 미치는 영향요인을 새롭게 조명하고 비즈니스모델 혁신이라는 새로운 매개변수를 밝히는 등 연구 범위를 확대하였다. 향후 연구에서는 객관적 측정도구의 개발, 산업특성에 따른 차이 규명이 필요할 것으로 보인다.
