RésuméL'objectif de cet article est d'examiner le rôle de l'attention dans les processus de jugement temporel chez l'être humain. Des données empiriques sont présentées appuyant l'existence d'une différence entre les jugements temporels prospectifs et rétrospectifs. En l'occurrence, l'attention serait plus directement impliquée dans les jugements temporels prospectifs que dans les jugements temporels rétrospectifs. Des modèles attentionnels pouvant expliquer les jugements temporels prospectifs sont présentés accompagnés d'éléments empiriques validant le modèle attentionnel général à la fois au niveau des processus cognitifs de base et au niveau des processus de contrôle exécutif. Attendre est une situation naturelle durant laquelle sont impliqués des processus de jugement temporel prospectif. Le modèle attentionnel permet d'expliquer pourquoi une durée passée à attendre semble passer plus lentement par opposition à une situation dans laquelle on est absorbé par la lecture d'un livre ou le visionnage d'un film et pour laquelle le temps s'écoule plus rapidement.
