특히, 인적자본 축적 및 설비투자율의 증가는 ICT(Information and Communications Technology)산업의 비중 증대에 특히 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

In this study, the determinant factors of industrial structure for three industries (manufacturing, ICT manufacturing, and an entire ICT industry) in Korea are investigated. Empirical results using quarterly data from 1993 show that the industrial shares are determined significantly with a inter-industrial difference of productivities, human capital, a trade balance, an (part & material) import from China, and a real won/dollar exchange rate. As increase of inter-industry difference of productivities, employment shares in all considered industries decrease but production shares increases. An import from China increases a domestic industrial share of corresponding industry due to the international specialization. It is found that investment rate and human capital increase, in particular, the share of ICT industry. Also production shares of ICT industries rise with an appreciation of won/dollar real exchange rate during the sample period.
