정신지체 아동과 일반아동의 MDVP를 이용한 음성의 음향학적 특성 비교 연구 - 5세 아동을 중심으로 - A Comparative Study of Voice Acoustic Characteristics Using MDVP of Normal and Mentally Retarded Children: Focussing on Children Aged 5

This paper deals with a comparative study of acoustic characteristics of children aged 5 consisting of 12 mentally disabled and 12 normal children, within the ambit of those words which contain monophthongs (/a/, /i/, /u/) and vowels in two syllable utterances (/igoe/, /uyo/, /eumma/). The results of the study showed that there was a significant difference between the group consisting of mentally disabled children and the group consisting of normal children in fundamental frequency and jitter percent. However, there was no significant difference between these two groups in shimmer percentage and Noise-to-Harmonic ratio(NHR). In addition, a significant difference was found between groups in fundamental frequency, jitter percent, shimmer percent and NHR, depending on gender, and, in particular, the most significant difference was observed in these elements between the group consisting normal female children and the group consisting of mentally disabled male children.
