The purpose of a chair is to provide stable bodily support in a posture that is: (a) comfortable over a period of time , (b) physiologically satisfactory, (c) appropriate to the task or activity in question. The relative comfort and functional utility of chairs are the consequence of their physical design in relationship to the physical structure and biomechanics of the human body. This research intends to improve the coefficiencies of works by proposing the standard size of chairs. Therefore, we analyzed the body parameters for designing chairs. The body parameters were defined by using the mesurement data obtained by this anthropometry and the data of 18- 50 years old people from the ’92 national anthropomtnc survey. With these body parameters, we determined the design dimensions such as seat height, seat depth, seat width, seat backrest width, and so on. Through this research, we may contribute to the development of ergonomic chair and improvement of the chair design technologies.
