A Study on the Variance of Body Composition, Anaerobic Capacity and VO2max of College Ssireum and Judo Athletes

This study was to inquire into the change of the body composition, anaerobic capacity, and VO2max of university Ssireum and Judo athlete. The study object was the seven middleweight Ssireum athletes and the seven middleweight Judo athletes respectively. For them, their body composition, anaerobic capacity and VO2max are measured for four years from their entrance into university. The measured data materials are analyzed by SPSS(ver.17.0). The average and the standard deviation of the articles in body composition and strength elements by groups are valued according to the measurement time. The two-way repeated measure ANOVA was carried out to specify the variance on the articles to the measurement time and between groups. the stastical significant level was set as =.05. The results are as follows. In case of the body composition, the variance between groups was not shown in the articles of body weight, body fat, lean fat. However, as their grade goes up, their body weight and body fat increase as (p<.001), (p<.05) respectively, while their lean fat decreases as (p<.01). Their anaerobic capacity and VO2max, as their grade goes up, decrease as (p<.001), (p<.01) and (p<.01), (p<.05). In conclusion, it was possible to say that the body composition of athletes changes, and also their anaerobic capacity and VO2max decreases as they get older
