The article seeks to analyse four Japan-China Wars - the War of Paekang"gu, Mongol invasion on the island Kyushu, Japanese Invasion of 1592 and Sino-Japanese War - in the East Asian International System in the light of hegemonic stability general theory. My basic assumption of this study on Japan-China Wars is that these wars as hegemonic wars not only involve the rivalry and the clash between declining hegemonic state and ascending challenger but also determine the nature, order and stability of the system. It finds the distinctive repetitive and cyclical elements of four hegemonic wars. Firstly, Each phase of Korean History - ancient era, middle age, near modern age and modern age - Japan--China War broke out one time. Secondly, The Causes of foreign invasion of Korean Peninsula were her negative attitudes towards contesting hegemonic powers especially the strong hegemonic state: Japan and China. Thirdly, the stability and peace in Korean Peninsula is closely related to that of the Hegemonic state. Fourthly, the occupation of Korean Peninsula or Korea"s falling in another"s "sphere of influence" is the symbol of the Hegemonic state. Fifthly, Japan-China wars were to bound to repeat itself in cycles. Sixthly, the balance of powers in the East Asia is the main cause of instability and hegemonic war. Lastly, Korea tends to regard China as beneficiary hegemony but Japan as coercive hegemony. It also finds that in the forming period of post-cold war era, the four hegemonic wars can give us its historicity and lessons.
