친환경 호텔 속성 지각 차이에 관한 연구 - 미국, 일본, 중국, 한국인 고객을 대상으로 A Study of Differences in the Perception of Eco-Friendly Hotel Attributes - Centering on American, Japanese, Chinese and Korean Customers
본 연구는 호텔기업에 대한 친환경 호텔 속성 지각 차이에 관한 연구를 국내호텔의 최대 고객인 미국, 일본, 중국, 한국인 고객을 대상으로 국적과 인구통계학적 특성에 따른 친환경지각의 차이에 대한 분석을 통해 호텔기업의 친환경 경영정책과 마케팅에 대한 시사점을 제공하고자 하였다.
연구의 결과는 가설1의 국적에 따른 요인별 지각차이를 살펴보면, 8개의 요인 중 7개의 요인(‘요인1 친환경 정책’, ‘요인2 친환경 시설’, ‘요인3 친환경 교육 및 회계’, ‘요인4 친환경주방환경’, ‘요인5 환경홍보 및 절약’, ‘요인6 자연친화적 객실관리’, ‘요인7 객실비품의 재활용’)에서 지각 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 가설2의 고객의 인구통계적 특성에 따른 요인별 지각 차이를 보면, 미국인 고객은 성별, 연령, 학력, 소득에 따른 지각 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 미국인 고객은 친환경 속성 지각에서 평균 4.02로 조사국 중 가장 높은 친환경 의식 수준을 보이고 있어 호텔기업에서 적극적으로 환경 정책에 대해 안내를 해야 할 것으로 판단된다. 일본, 중국, 한국인 고객은 요인별 지각에 대해 다양하게 차이를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 여성은 국적에 상관없이 모두 남성보다 친환경 지각이 높은 것으로 나타나 여성을 위한 친환경 마케팅 전략이 요구된다. 따라서 호텔기업은 친환경 활동에 대한 중요성을 인식하여 세부적인 친환경 지침을 작성, 직원들을 교육하고 고객들에게도 호텔의 친환경 활동 및 재활용에 대한 회사의 협조 내용을 알려 성과를 달성할 수 있도록 해야 할 것으로 여겨진다.
