The purpose of this research was to identity the differences of executive function between gifted and non-gifted young children. The objects of this research were 34 gifted children and 38 non-gifted children from kindergarten and daycare center in Busan. To achieve the purpose of this research, the tests were conducted by using the stroop task, card sorting test, digit span, word fluency test, design fluency test, mazes, and tower of Hanoi task for children. The research applied independent samples t-test to find out the difference of executive function between gifted and non-gifted young children. The results of the research were as follows; first, there were significantly different inhibition of attention control between gifted and non-gifted children. Second, there were significantly different transfer of cognitive flexibility in number test, but weren’t that in shape test between gifted and non-gifted children. Third, there were significantly different multi-working memory, but weren’t simple working memory of cognitive flexibility between gifted and non-gifted children. Forth, there were significantly different word fluency, but weren’t design fluency of information processing between gifted and non-gifted children. Fifth, there were significantly different planning organization of goal setting between gifted and non-gifted children. Therefore, gifted children had generally better executive function than non-gifted children.
