The inventions disclosed herein relate to designs of climbing surfaces, fall safety pads and/or accessories related thereto. According to some embodiments, different impact zones of a fall safety pad can have different cushioning attributes. The different cushioning attributes of the different impact zones of the safety pad can be based on a vertical distance to a directly overlying portion of the climbing surface. The different cushioning attributes of the different impact zones of the safety pad can also consider a predicted or measured frequency of falling from a portion of the climbing surface directly overlying each impact zone of the safety pad. Other intended climber attributes, enjoyment, and safety concerns can be considered in the design of the climbing surface(s), safety pad(s), and accessories disclosed. Further, wear, replicability, customizations of enjoyment, and updates to safety concerns in the climbing sport are further understood in view of this disclosure.

1. An indoor climbing arrangement comprising: climbing surface, including: a first climbing location; anda second climbing location, the second climbing location being both vertically upwards in a Z direction and horizontally spaced at a different distance in an X direction from the first climbing location of the climbing surface;a climbing safety pad including: a first impact zone of the climbing safety pad located directly below the first climbing location of the climbing surface, the first impact zone including a first cushioning property associated with a first vertical fall distance of a climber falling from the first climbing location of the climbing surface, the first climbing location of the climbing surface being located directly over the first impact zone of the climbing safety pad;a second impact zone of the climbing safety pad located directly below the second climbing location of the climbing surface, the second impact zone including a second cushioning property associated with a second vertical fall distance of the climber falling from the second climbing location of the climbing surface, the second climbing location of the climbing surface being located directly over the second impact zone of the climbing safety pad, wherein:the indoor climbing arrangement is defined by perpendicular X, Y, and Z directions, the Z direction being a vertical direction parallel to gravity, the Y direction being a horizontal direction along which a base of the climbing surface extends, and the X direction defining a direction of extension of the climbing safety pad away from the base of the climbing surface;the climbing surface extends a first distance in the X and Z directions such that the climbing surface extends over the climbing safety pad and the first climbing location is disposed over the first impact zone;the climbing surface further extends in the X and Z direction such that the climbing surface extends a second vertical and horizontal distance over the climbing safety pad such that the second climbing location is disposed over the second impact zone the first and second impact zones are located at different distances in the X direction relative to the base of the climbing surface;the first cushioning property of the first impact zone of the climbing safety pad is different than the second cushioning property of the second impact zone of the climbing safety pad; andthe difference between the first cushioning property of the first impact zone and the second cushioning property of the second impact zone is based at least in part on the different vertical fall distance from the first climbing location and the second climbing location of the climbing surface. 2. The indoor climbing arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the first climbing location of the climbing surface is immediately adjacent to the first impact zone of the climbing safety pad. 3. The indoor climbing arrangement according to claim 1, wherein a likelihood of climber injury associated with an increased fall distance from the second climbing location climbing surface is decreased due to the corresponding increase in cushioning property associated with the second impact zone. 4. The indoor climbing arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the second climbing location of the of the climbing surface is above the first climbing location of the climbing surface and inclined at an obtuse angle relative to the first climbing location of the climbing surface. 5. The indoor climbing arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the first climbing location of the climbing surface includes climbing problems associated with a first level of difficulty and the second climbing location of the climbing surface includes climbing problems associated with an increased second level of difficulty as compared to the first climbing location of the climbing surface. 6. The indoor climbing arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the climbing surface is less than 20 feet high. 7. The indoor climbing arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the first and second climbing locations of the climbing surface include artificial rock climbing holds as and different volumes. 8. The indoor climbing arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the width of the second impact zone is determined based on a margin of prediction of the accuracy to which a climber falls to the second impact zone. 9. The indoor climbing arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the second impact zone of the climbing safety pad is associated with a relatively lower wear characteristic as opposed to the first impact zone of the climbing safety pad. 10. The indoor climbing arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the second impact zone of the climbing safety pad includes a top layer and a bottom layer, wherein the top layer is substantially less deformable than the bottom layer of the bottom layer of the second impact zone of the climbing safety pad. 11. The indoor climbing arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the bottom layer is a plastically deformable material as opposed to the relatively elasticly deformable material of the top layer. 12. The indoor climbing arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the second impact zone of the climbing safety pad is substantially less susceptible to hysteresis as compared to the first impact zone of the climbing safety pad. 13. The indoor climbing arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the second impact zone of the climbing safety pad includes independent cushioning pieces. 14. The indoor climbing arrangement according to claim 13, wherein the first impact zone of the climbing safety pad includes a single foam structure. 15. The indoor climbing arrangement according to claim 14, wherein the foam structure is formed to an engineered structure. 16. The indoor climbing arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the first impact zone of the climbing safety pad is formed using a molding process. 17. The indoor climbing arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the second impact zone includes inflated products. 18. The indoor climbing arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the first impact zone includes zone quadrants created and interlocked together by interlocking features. 19. The indoor climbing arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the first and second impact zones include replaceable portions. 20. The indoor climbing arrangement according to claim 1, wherein the second impact zone includes a corrugated material and the first impact zone includes a foam material.
