In one example embodiment, a computer implemented method includes obtaining, by a computing system, data indicative of a test trip index associated with an autonomous vehicle. The test trip index includes a plurality of test trips for the autonomous vehicle and each test trip is associated with one or more test trip parameters. The method includes obtaining, by the computing system, data indicating that the autonomous vehicle is available to travel in accordance with at least one of the test trips of the test trip index. The method includes selecting, by the computing system and from the test trip index, at least one selected test trip for the autonomous vehicle. The method includes causing, by the computing system, the autonomous vehicle to travel in accordance with the test trip parameters associated with the at least one selected test trip.

A computer-implemented method for controlling autonomous vehicle test trips, comprising: obtaining, by a computing system comprising one or more computing devices, data indicative of a test trip index associated with an autonomous vehicle, wherein the test trip index comprises a plurality of test trips for the autonomous vehicle, and wherein each test trip is associated with one or more test trip parameters;determining, by the computing system, that the autonomous vehicle has completed transportation of a user in response to a first transportation service request and that the autonomous vehicle has not been assigned a second transportation service request;determining, by the computing system, that the autonomous vehicle is available to travel in accordance with at least one of the test trips of the test trip index based at least in part on the determination that the autonomous vehicle has completed transportation of the user in response to the first transportation service request and that the autonomous vehicle has not been assigned the second transportation service request;selecting, by the computing system and from the test trip index, at least one selected test trip for the autonomous vehicle while the autonomous vehicle is available to travel in accordance with at least one of the test trips of the test trip index; andproviding, by the computing system, data indicative of the at least one selected test trip to the autonomous vehicle so that the autonomous vehicle travels in accordance with the test trip parameters associated with the at least one selected test trip while the autonomous vehicle is available to travel in accordance with the at least one selected test trip. 2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising: providing, by the computing system for display via a user interface of a display device, data indicative of the test trip index, wherein the plurality of test trips and the test trip parameters are specified by a user based at least in part on user input associated with the user interface by the user. 3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the plurality of test trips are not generated in response to a service request for a vehicle service provided by the autonomous vehicle. 4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the test trip parameters comprise at least one of an origin location, a destination location, or a vehicle route. 5. The computer-implemented method of claim 4, wherein the test trip parameters for at least one of the test trips are created in real-time, and wherein the origin location and the destination location each comprise a randomly selected location within a geographic area. 6. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising: obtaining, by the computing system, feedback data associated with the at least one selected test trip; andpresenting, by the computing system for display via a user interface of a display device, the feedback data associated with the at least one selected test trip. 7. The computer-implemented method of claim 6, wherein the feedback data is indicative of one or more vehicle operating conditions during the at least one selected test trip. 8. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein determining that the autonomous vehicle is available to travel in accordance with at least one of the test trips of the test trip index comprises: obtaining, by the computing system, data indicating that the autonomous vehicle is in a particular operating mode. 9. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein providing data indicative of the at least one selected test trip to the autonomous vehicle so that the autonomous vehicle travels in accordance with the test trip parameters associated with the at least one selected test trip while the autonomous vehicle is available to travel in accordance with the at least one selected test trip comprises: providing, by the computing system, data indicative of the at least one selected test trip to a vehicle computing system onboard the autonomous vehicle, wherein the vehicle computing system causes the autonomous vehicle to travel in accordance with the test trip parameters associated with the at least one selected test trip. 10. A computing system for controlling autonomous vehicle test trips, comprising: one or more processors; andone or more memory devices, the one or more memory devices storing instructions that when executed by the one or more processors cause the computing system to perform operations, the operations comprising:obtaining data indicative of a test trip index associated with an autonomous vehicle, wherein the test trip index comprises a plurality of test trips, and wherein each test trip is associated with one or more test trip parameters;determining that the autonomous vehicle has completed transportation of a user in response to a first transportation service request and that the autonomous vehicle has not been assigned a second transportation service request;determining that the autonomous vehicle is available to travel in accordance with at least one of the test trips of the test trip index based at least in part on the determination that the autonomous vehicle has completed transportation of the user in response to the first transportation service request and that the autonomous vehicle has not been assigned the second transportation service request;selecting, from the test trip index, a first selected test trip for the autonomous vehicle while the autonomous vehicle is available to travel in accordance with the first selected test trip; andproviding data indicative of the first selected test trip to the autonomous vehicle, wherein the autonomous vehicle travels in accordance with the first selected test trip while the autonomous vehicle is available to travel in accordance with the first selected test trip. 11. The computing system of claim 10, wherein the operations further comprise: obtaining data indicating that the autonomous vehicle has completed the first selected test trip;selecting a second selected test trip from the test trip index for the autonomous vehicle; andproviding data indicative of the second selected test trip to the autonomous vehicle, wherein the autonomous vehicle travels in accordance with the second selected test trip. 12. The computing system of claim 10, wherein the plurality of test trips are specified by a user based at least in part on user input associated with a user interface displayed on a display device. 13. The computing system of claim 10, wherein the plurality of test trips are not generated in response to a service request for a vehicle service provided by the autonomous vehicle. 14. The computing system of claim 10, wherein at least one of the test trips is based at least in part on a vehicle trip previously travelled in response to a service request. 15. The computing system of claim 10, wherein the test trip index is associated with one or more constraints, and wherein the one or more constraints comprise at least one of a time constraint, a weather constraint, or a vehicle constraint. 16. One or more tangible, non-transitory computer-readable media storing computer-readable instructions that when executed by one or more processors cause the one or more processors to perform operations, the operations comprising: obtaining data indicative of a test trip index, wherein the test trip index comprises a plurality of test trips, wherein each test trip is associated with one or more test trip parameters, and wherein the test trip index is created based at least in part on user input associated with a user interface displayed on a display device;determining that an autonomous vehicle has completed transportation of a user in response to a first transportation service request and that the autonomous vehicle has not been assigned a second transportation service request;determining that the autonomous vehicle is available to travel in accordance with at least one of the test trips of the test trip index based at least in part on the determination that the autonomous vehicle has completed transportation of the user in response to the first transportation service request and that the autonomous vehicle has not been assigned the second transportation service request;selecting, from the test trip index, at least one selected test trip for the autonomous vehicle while the autonomous vehicle is available to travel in accordance with at least one of the test trips of the test trip index; andproviding data indicative of the at least one selected test trip to the autonomous vehicle, wherein the autonomous vehicle travels in accordance with the test trip parameters associated with the at least one selected test trip while the autonomous vehicle is available to travel in accordance with the first selected test trip. 17. The one or more tangible, non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 16, wherein the operations further comprise: associating the test trip index with the autonomous vehicle based at least in part on the user input associated with the user interface displayed on the display device. 18. The one or more tangible, non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 16, wherein the user interface comprises a map user interface, and wherein the test trip parameters are specified by the user based at least in part on user input associated with the map user interface. 19. The one or more tangible, non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 16, wherein the operations further comprise: obtaining feedback data associated with the at least one selected test trip, wherein the feedback data is indicative of at least one of a measurement of how much the autonomous vehicle travelled without manual human user control during the at least one selected test trip, a measurement of how much the autonomous vehicle travelled with manual human user control during the at least one selected test trip, or a status of the at least one test trip. 20. The one or more tangible, non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 19, wherein the operations further comprise: presenting the feedback data via the user interface on the display device.
