Development of the actuator and micro fluid system based on conducting polymer and the thin film process
In this work, electronic electronic electroactive polymer(EAP) actuator was made use of polyurethane(PU) as body and we studied on mechanical, chemical and electrical properties of actuator. Furthermore we made an effort to prepare body material to improve these properties. We analyzed viscoelasticity, maximum displacement and kinetic viscoelasticity with hard content. Then we added the montmorilonitrile (MMT) to the PU to improve on mechanical and electrical properties. In this work, we choosed conductive carbon black particles which were dispersed in synthesized water borne polyurethane matrix and stacked on both side of PU/MMT nanocomposites film using spin coater. These electrodes take advantage of excellent conductivity and flexibility to improve the displacement.
We designed control algorism and prepared system. And also we designed the outer block using the CFD and did simulation works. We performed dynamic analysis of actuator to prepare prototype. And we achieved a foundation for design of micro actuator from measurement of actuation force. We also studied on mechanical, chemical, and electrical properties of electronic EAP and ionic EAP.
We are manufacture a micro pump applied the MEMS(Micro Electro Mechanical System) technique. Also we are researched focusing on the actual application and the reproducibility evaluation of actuators. And we produce a suitable polymer flexible electrode for the electronic actuator. The physical properties and characteristics as an electrode of actuator were evaluated. Also we enhance the biocompatibility by using poly(dimetylsiloxane)PDMS based PU solid polymer electrolyte(SPE) with the electrolyte of CP actuator. When we synthesize the polypyrrole(PPy) by using the electrochemical method, therefore the displacement of the CP actuator were improved.
While performing this work, seven thesises at SCI class journals such as Electrochimica Acta-three thesises , Journal Applied Polymer Science-one thesise, Composite Interfaces-one thesise, Macromolecular Research-one thesise, Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals-one thesise, etc. were accepted. And five thesises at SCI class journals such as Key Engineering Materials-three thesises, Electrochimica Acta-one thesise, Macromolecular Symposia-one thesise, etc. are in the press. Consequently, we achieved the result that total twelve thesises at SCI class journals were accepted. The number of presenters at symposiums totals 77, and participants totals 236. The number of theses published while participating in symposiums is 61 at internal symposiums and 37 at international symposiums.
