연구의 목적 및 내용
원자부터 연속체까지 멀티스케일 방법론을 이용하여, 나노결정소재 뿐만 아니라, 그래핀, 철강재료, 거미줄, 금속유리 등 새로 각광 받는 신소재에 대하여 기계적 특성 및 합성 메커니즘에 대해 연구를 수행함.

Expected Contribution
1. Nanowire: We revealed the deformation and synthesis mechanism in this study.
We will collaborate with experimental groups working on nanowire applications.
2. Graphene: We established a method to study mechanical properties of graphene.
We will collaborate with experimental groups interested in utilizing the strength of grpahene.
3. Steel: We established the method to study pearlitic steel at atomic scale. We will expand our study to other types of steels and collaborate with experimental groups.
4. Others: We will collaborate with experimental groups working on spider silk, metallic glass, nanowire-polymer composites.
