In order to form an environment of stable settlement for improving farm villagers’ life quality, this researcher aims to enhance the color of farming villages and also develop technology to better insulation in the houses. As detailed task 1, the technology to improve the color of farming villages was developed, and as detailed task 2, how to enhance insulation performance in rural houses was studied. Let’s look into the detailed goals by the years. Regarding the development of technology to improve the color of farming villages, in the 1st year, the current status and characteristics of color in farming villages were drawn. In the 2nd year, how to manage color by the types of farming villages was drawn, and in the 3rd year, color validity was evaluated, and the planning model was developed in order. Concerning how to improve insulation performance in rural houses, in the 1st year, the current stats of insulation performance in rural houses was suggested. In the 2nd year, the technology to enhance insulation performance in rural houses was developed, and in the 3rd year, the architectural technology for rural houses applying low-energy construction materials was developed in order.
Results
Let’s examine the main results of research on developing technology to enhance the color of farming villages. First of all, to draw the elements to be managed regarding the color of farming villages, literature review and expert surveys were down, and 12 elements of natural landscape and 20 elements of artificial landscape were selected. Particularly in this study, in order to solve the problems found in the colors of landscape in farming villages rapidly changing according to the increase and distribution of new and renewable energy, this researcher divided towns included in the energy project from those not for further analysis. The sites of research selected are the central area, southern area, and Jeju. Farming villages were classified by the types of location into the farm villages adjacent to large cities, general farm villages, and special farm villages. To analyze the current status and characteristics of color, visual colorimetry and photo colorimetry were applied to towns included in the energy project and those not, total six towns in Pyeongtaek, Hadong, and Jeju (2015). Regarding the survey of recognition on images by types and representative colors, the ranges of colors (dominant colors, secondary colors, & highlight colors) were decided with ordinary people (210 from three towns) and experts (30) (2016). Concerning color landscape simulations developed three times, preference evaluation was done with ordinary people (100 from six towns) and experts (28). Based on that, this author developed the color model for Mansu-dong of Wanju-gun, Jeonbuk and applied it to the field and then published a color guidebook titled as ‘The Color of Farming Villages, It’s So Good’ (2017).
In this study on how to improve insulation performance in rural houses, nine items for insulation and seven factors about the improvement of insulation performance were drawn in order to examine the current status of insulation performance in rural houses. The objects of research are the central area, southern area, and Jeju. The level of insulation was investigated with 18 houses located in three towns. This researcher has devised plans to improve insulation performance according to the year of construction, structure, and also the size. (2015) To develop technology associated with the elements of improving insulation performance in rural houses, this author has reviewed literatures on insulation and examined insulation technology currently applied to rural houses. This study has analyzed the elements of insulation enhancement through on-the-spot investigation over the aspects of insulation in Korea and suggested three kinds of technology to improve insulation performance.
Three kinds of technology were analyzed comparatively in terms of indoor and outdoor temperature change before and after the construction, thermal transmittance change, and thermal image. (2016) Also, to develop technology for rural houses using low-energy architectural materials, this author conducted on-the-spot investigation on houses as well as insulation technology applied to different materials. Three insulation materials, EPS, e-board, and glass wool, were selected. By using the insulation material of EPS that is inexpensive and directly usable by farm villagers with ease, this researcher attempted to improve insulation in a room of a house located in Mansu-dong Town of Wanju-gun. After applying the model using EPS insulation technology, this author published an insulation guidebook titled as ‘My House Is So Good As It’s Warm’ additionally. (2017)
Expected Contribution
‘81. The Formation of Welfare Agricultural, Mountain and Fishing Villages that Everybody Wants (Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs)’ is being promoted as one of the Top 100 Government Projects. This can be applied as a leading material to improve the basic living conditions. For it, this author provides five suggestions for policy making and four suggestions for agriculture.
