(1) Technical aspects
◦ Suggestion an appropriate feed formulation by establish a database of feed ingredients and phase feeding of swine to maximizebioavilability of feed ingredients.
◦ Development of high quality feed formulation through verification of appropriate nutrient levels in each growth stage of swine
◦ Development of high-efficiency, high-quality nutritional feed technology to improve health status of weaning pigs and reduction of dairy by-products in young pigs.
◦ Development of economical feed for sows to improve sow productivity and longevity
◦ Suggest a standard nutrient requirements in swine at each growing stage.
◦ Develop nutrient feed technology to reduce emissions of nitrogen and phosphorus in excrement of manure and urine.
(2) Economic and industrial aspects
◦ Prepare FTA and abrupt increase of major grain price by developing alternative ingredients
◦ Increment of swine farm’s profit, reduction of cost of production and saving cost of feed production approximately 100 ~ 200 won(at least 15%) by development of feed formulation using alternativeand new raw materials in swine feed.
◦ Reduction of conventional major raw materials in swine feed by development of alternative raw materials subsequently a secured esupply and demand of ingredients is possible by minimize cost forimport costs of raw materials and although there is a fluctuationof international grain prices.
◦ Increment of swine farm’s profit by promotion of health status of piglets as well as decreasing mortality of weaning pigs.
◦ Decrement of feed cost production by establishment of optimal nutrients requirement in growing stage of swine.
◦ Not only saving of feed cost and cost of pig production but also securing domestic swine industry by export of high quality meat products. Eventually sustainable domestic swine industry can beseen in FTA era.
◦ Increasing the competitiveness of swine farm results in a synergy effect of the mutual growth of related industries (feed, meat, distribution), which will allow Korea's swine industry to grow andgain international competitiveness.
