Staphylococcal infection was 19 cases, streptococcal infection 13 cases, pneumococcal infection 11 cases, and others 33 cases. 5. In treatment, closed thoracotomy performed in 50 cases, open drainage in 29 cases, decortication in 14 cases, thoracoplasty in 13 cases, & thoracentesis in 4 cases. In children, only thoracentesis and closed thoracotomy were favorable result. 6. 103 cases were discharged with recovery and improvement, but 7 cases were early discharged because of their economic or personal conditions without improvement.
