Animation is one area of the visual arts that is currently popular, and is representative of a new age in digital imaging. Because it is widely used in each field of society, its value is increasing as time passes. The goal of this research is to first introduce animation into art classes, and then to find and propose a method that would be used for making animation in the 'Stop-Motion Method' in order to keep up with the change in our society. The results of this study follows: First, it turned out that animation, one type of image media, has been widening its category to be a composite art, been transforming patterns, content, and methods to meet the changing times and developments of techniques and been showing that it is a genre today that would succeed as a digital art media. These are results that we obtained from researching primary sources. Second, to confirm the needs for the L.F.M.A. (lessons for making animation) at elementary schools, we studied the nature of art itself, and the needs of our society and pupils which determine art education content. The L.F.M.A. is expected to enhance not only the pupils imaginative power, esthetic sense and formative abilities, but also their creativity and multilateral critical thinking ability. Third, we presented all of the L.F.M.A. Our lessons ranged from making characters and backdrops, camera shooting by 'Stop-Motion Method' to editing animated images. These lessons were designed so that we can introduce skills for making animation into the art classes of elementary schools. Particularly, we proposed an actual model for L.F.M.A. that could be a suitable lesson plan for some art classes in current elementary schools. Fourth, we suggested a simple, easy and basic way of making animation and minimum tools and facilities for enjoying the L.F.M.A. after considering the growth levels of pupils of elementary schools and the situations of each school in terms of tools and facilities. Particularly, we focused on basic understanding and skills for the culture of digital images, maximizing the effects of study, and easiness of creating animation by using computers. Like the above, this research showed a possibility that the L.F.M.A. could be introduced and taught in the art classes in elementary schools and presented a model lesson plan which could be used in the actual field. Animation is now acknowledged as an important genre of visual art, a means of communication close to the lifestyle of modern people and a vanguard for the digital culture of the 21st century. Therefore, it goes without saying that animation should be introduced into an official curriculum of school education. For this purpose, we should continuously pay attention to the following three things: the changes of teachers' cognition, workshops for the theory and practice of L.F.M.A., and developing textbooks concerned with L.F.M.A.
